Alec Sandy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Alec began their career in 2004 at Toyota GB as a Production Cell Lead, responsible for leading a team and improving process efficiency. In 2009, they worked as a Procurement Advisor at BAE SYSTEMS Surface Ships (Holdings) Limited. In 2011, they joined Airbus and participated in their Graduate Programme, where they gained experience in project management, quality assurance, and procurement. Alec continued working at Airbus until 2016, transitioning to the role of Commodity Leader - Commercial Contracts Manager, responsible for managing framework contracts and supplier relationships. From 2016 to 2018, Alec worked as a Commercial Manager at Babcock International Group, specializing in high-value contract negotiations and innovative contracting solutions. Alec then joined the Royal Navy in 2020 as part of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, focusing on commercial and financial strategy. Currently, they are the Commercial Portfolio Lead for UK Intelligence at QinetiQ. Overall, Alec Sandy has a strong background in commercial management, procurement, and strategic planning.
Alec Sandy obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of the West of England, which they pursued from 2007 to 2011. Alec also holds additional certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Scrum Inc., an IACCM Advanced Practitioner certification from IACCM, a Level 7 certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute, and an MCIPS certification from The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. Additionally, Alec achieved a First Class in BA (Hons) Business Studies from the University of the West of England.
