Ian Cox

Ian Cox has extensive experience in business management and market development, predominantly within the defence and communications sectors. Currently serving as Business Manager for Market Development at QinetiQ since January 2004, Ian has led strategic initiatives to create high-value market propositions and managed service sector strategies. Previous roles at QinetiQ included Business Manager for Major New Business, focusing on the qualification and closure of significant opportunities in the EMEA defence market, and Business Group Manager where Ian implemented strategies in a competitive market. Prior to QinetiQ, Ian held various positions at Schlumberger from 1990 to 2004, including Director for the Smart Cards business and Business Manager for Prepayment Systems. Career beginnings trace back to roles in sales and market development at Reedpack Ltd and the British Printing & Communication Corporation, with foundational training at the Central Electricity Generating Board as a Professional Engineering Trainee. Ian holds a degree in Energy Technology from Aston University.
