Ian Willmott

Ian Willmott is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as Principal Maritime Structural Engineer at QinetiQ since May 2024. Prior to this role, Ian held the position of Head of Design at Lippert Europe from August 2022 to May 2024 and was the Director of Mechanical Engineering at Isotropic Systems from May 2020 to June 2022. Ian's notable previous experience includes serving as Lead Mechanical Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space from February 2014 to May 2020, Principal Mechanical Engineer at Bowman Power from August 2012 to February 2014, and Lead Mechanical Engineer for Naval Products at EADS Astrium from June 2009 to July 2012. Ian has also worked as Design Team Leader at Lewmar from June 2004 to June 2009 and as Design Engineer/System Leader at Ricardo from October 2001 to June 2004. Ian holds a First Class MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wales, Cardiff, obtained between 1997 and 2001.
