John Shimell

John Shimell is an experienced engineering professional with expertise in autonomy and spatial modeling. Currently serving as Chief Engineer of Autonomy at QinetiQ since April 2022, John provides strategic technical leadership and oversees the development of autonomy portfolios across multiple domains. Previously, John held the position of Head of Autonomy at TP Group plc, leading a team on significant autonomy projects for the UK MOD and USAF. John's early career includes roles at Polaris Consulting, where advancements in AI and autonomy were spearheaded, and IBM, where management of global teams and business transformation projects was key. John holds a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter.
