Paul Sharp

Paul Sharp is a seasoned radiation safety expert with extensive experience in various roles within the field of radiation safety and compliance. Currently serving as the QinetiQ Radiation Advisor since June 2001, Paul Sharp provides assurance, advice, and training across the UK business, overseeing radiation safety management systems. Previously, Paul Sharp held positions as a Bid Manager and Senior Sales Manager at Harwell Instruments Ltd, and served as a Senior Scientist in the UK Civil Service, managing research projects related to Non-Destructive Assay (NDA). Early career contributions include work as a Physicist in the Fuel Handling Department at Rolls Royce Derby, focusing on radiation safety assessments for the UK Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme. Paul Sharp holds a PhD in neutron techniques for non-destructive assay from the University of Birmingham, along with an MSc in the physics and technology of nuclear reactors and a BSc in Physics.
