Peter Wilkinson is currently the Technical Lead for Optical Communications and Sensing at QinetiQ and the Founder of Openarc Space. They served as Head of Engineering at HUBER+SUHNER Polatis from 2021 to 2023, where they managed the optical switching programme following its acquisition of ROADMap Systems, where they were VP Engineering. Peter has also held various engineering roles, including Principal and Senior Principal Engineer. They supervised undergraduates and taught dynamics and structural mechanics at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge, after completing their Ph.D. in Engineering at the same institution, where they also earned an MEng with distinction.
