Rob Moon

Rob Moon is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in aviation and defense sectors. Currently serving as the Head of the Aviation Engineering Centre at QinetiQ since May 2015, Rob oversees the engineering and certification of aircraft modifications and system integrations in compliance with civil and military regulatory standards. Previous roles include Head of Mechanical Engineering at QinetiQ, where accountability for the Mechanical Engineering discipline spanned multiple UK sites, and Head of Through Life Engineering for the Weapons Division focusing on UK test ranges. Prior to QinetiQ, Rob held leadership positions at Ultra Electronics, managing the engineering of military and civil aircraft systems, and at Thales, where Rob handled the design and development of safety-critical defense equipment. Rob's career began at Thorn EMI as a mechanical apprentice, leading to progressively responsible positions, and Rob is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston University.
