Thoas Fioretos began their work experience in 2002 as a Senior Consultant in Clinical Genetics at Region Skåne. In 2006, they became a Member of the Review Committee of the Danish Cancer Society at Kræftens Bekæmpelse. In 2007, they founded Qlucore and served as its Founder, Board Member, and Scientific Advisor. Thoas also became a Member of the Review Committee of the Swedish Cancer Society at Cancerfonden. In 2008, they became a Professor at Lunds universitet. In 2009, they founded Cantargia AB and served as its Founder and Board Member. In 2016, they became a Member of the Review Committee of the Norwegian Cancer Society at Kreftforeningen. In 2018, they became a Wallenberg Clinical Scholar at Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse. Finally, in 2021, they took on the role of Platform Director Clinical Genomics at SciLifeLab.

Thoas Fioretos completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Lund University in an unknown year. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the same university and completed it in 1996. The field of study for both degrees is not specified.
