Johnny Yu

Johnny Yu has worked in various roles in the cyber security and engineering fields since 2011. Johnny started their career as a Sound Designer/Engineer at First Stage Spring Hill in 2011. In 2014, they moved to Aston Technologies, Inc. as a Network Engineer-Junior. Johnny then worked as a Network Operations Center Engineer at SOC Telemed in 2015. That same year, they began working as a Cyber Security Operational Analyst at BAE Systems, Inc. Johnny then transitioned to TEKsystems as a Cyber Security and Incident Response Analyst in 2018. In 2019, they moved to SAIC in the same role. Most recently, they are a Splunk Engineer at Qmulos since 2021.

Johnny Yu has an extensive educational background. Johnny began their education in 2007 at George Mason University, where they studied Biology, General until 2012. In 2020, Yu began attending Western Governors University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, Yu has obtained a variety of certifications from CompTIA, Splunk, AXELOS Global Best Practice, SANS Institute, and (ISC)². These certifications include CompTIA Project+, Splunk IT Service Intelligence Certified Admin, Splunk Core Certified Consultant, Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, ITIL Foundation Level, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), GIAC Critical Controls Certification (GCCC), GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT), GIAC Defensible Security Architecture (GDSA), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA), Certified Security Analyst (CSA), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
