Sam Harper

Sam Harper has worked in the IT industry since 2005. Sam'smost recent role is Director, Cloud Services at Qmulos, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to that, they were a Senior CyberSecurity Engineer at Copper River Enterprise Services from 2016 to 2019, where they served as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer on a high-profile Splunk Enterprise and Enterprise Security implementation. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Cyber Security Consultant for IT Coalition, where they were responsible for overseeing security assessments of high profile, complex, decentralized information systems. From 2006 to 2014, they worked as a Senior Information Security Consultant for Acentia, where they served as the Security POC on annual OIG FISCAM and FISCAM audits on the DOL Electronic Procurement Financial System. Sam'sfirst role in the IT industry was as a Security Specialist for Integrated Communication Solutions, Inc. (ICS) from 2005 to 2006, where they served as Team Leader for numerous Security Controls Assessments' “Execution/Testing” phases in Veteran’s Hospitals across the United States.

Sam Harper completed a Master's Degree in Information Management at Syracuse University from 2003-2004. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Economics from Penn State University from 1997-2001. Sam also holds certifications from Splunk, (ISC)2, and other institutions, including Splunk Accredited Core Implementation (Formerly SCC-II) - Professional Services (December 2018), Splunk Certified Architect II (August 2018), Splunk Sales Engineer III (August 2018), Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect (May 2017), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (ISC)2, Splunk Core Certified Power User, Splunk Core Certified User, and Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin.
