Dr. Jay Stewart is a vitreoretinal specialist at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), where he has piloted several telemedicine initiatives.
In his NIH-funded research, Dr. Stewart studies age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, drug delivery to the eye, and the permeability and biomechanics of eye tissues. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Retina Society.
