Derek Hower

Derek Hower is a Senior Staff Engineer/Manager at Qualcomm with extensive experience in microarchitecture and team leadership. They previously contributed as a postdoc at AMD, leading research on memory consistency models for APUs, and held positions at Intel and Qualcomm where they developed critical CPU features and drove architecture definitions. Derek earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they also served as an adjunct assistant professor, teaching graduate courses on Heterogeneous Computing.
