Laurie Self

Laurie Self is the SVP & Counsel for Government Affairs at Qualcomm. Laurie has over twenty years of experience as a partner at Covington & Burling, where they focused on U.S. and international technology law with an emphasis on intellectual property policy, compliance, and enforcement. Ms. Self has worked on behalf of their clients to spearhead IP law reform and enforcement campaigns in the United States and numerous markets worldwide, including China, Latin America, Russia and other parts of the former Soviet Union.

Ms. Self's clients have spanned a broad range of industry sectors, including IT, pharmaceutical, and media. Laurie has been recognized as one of IP Law & Business' Top IP People Under 45 and as one of Legal 500's top lawyers annually. Ms. Self is also chair of the firm’s global Trademark and Copyright Group.

Laurie Self has a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and an AB in Economics from Duke University.

They are on a team with Kurt M. Kjelland - VP, Legal Counsel, Daniel Vrechek - VP, Legal, and Jill Abasto - VP, Legal Counsel. Laurie Self reports to Ann Chaplin, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Qualcomm Incorporated.
