James Mater is an internationally recognized expert in smart grid testing, standards, certification, and interoperability. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy for Smart Grid at QualityLogic, James identifies new business opportunities and leads their development. Previously, as President and CEO of QualityLogic, James guided the company into the smart energy sector, becoming a leader in testing tools and services for grid edge applications. James has contributed significantly to the field through various roles, including participation in the GridWise Architecture Council and the California Smart Inverter Working Group, while also co-teaching a graduate course at Portland State University. In their leisure time, James enjoys hiking in the Pacific Northwest and spending quality moments with family.
