Steve Petrone

Steve Petrone has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Steve began their career at Dofasco Inc. as a Metallurgist in 1980 and then moved on to roles at Steltech Inc. as a Research Investigator from 1987 to 1990, and Sherritt Inc. as a Program Principal from 1991 to 1993. Steve then worked as the Executive Vice President and COO at The Westaim Corporation from 1994 to 1998. From 1998 to 2009, they served as the President and a Board Member at Quantiam Technologies Inc. Steve then became the CEO and CTO at the same company from 2010 onwards.

In addition to their work at Quantiam Technologies Inc., Petrone has also held various board positions. Steve was a Board Member at BASF Qtech Inc. from 2011 to 2018 and at nanoCluster Alberta Ltd. from 2015 to 2018. Steve also served as an Advisory Board Member at NAIT nanoCARTS from 2012 to 2015.

More recently, Petrone has taken on leadership roles in the technology industry in Alberta. Steve is currently the Acting Chair at INC Alberta, where they aim to build a Technology and Innovation EcoSystem in Alberta and increase the technology sector's contribution to GDP by 2030.

Steve Petrone holds a Ph.D. in Surface Chemistry from McMaster University. Before that, they completed their B.Sc. in Physical Chemistry, also at McMaster University. However, the specific start and end years for both degrees are not provided.
