Ian Hoffman

Lead Physicist

Ian Hoffman is a Numerical Physicist with a diverse background in academia and research. They served as a Junior Research Associate at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory from 2001 to 2003 and worked as a Principal Research Scientist at ITT from 2004 to 2006, focusing on defense contracts in radar and ultrafast laser spectroscopy. Ian held various academic positions, including Faculty at St. Paul's School and Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics at Wittenberg University, culminating in a role as an Advanced Physicist at Quantinuum, where they lead the development of simulation tools for trapped-ion transport. Ian earned a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of New Mexico in 2003, following a B.A. in Astrophysics from Colgate University.
