Christopher West

Christopher West has over 20 years of work experience in the IT industry. Christopher is currently serving as the Executive Manager, Business Technology at Quantium since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the IT Infrastructure Lead at Quantium from June 2017 to October 2021. Before joining Quantium, Christopher held the role of Senior Systems Engineer at Quantium from May 2014 to June 2017.

In addition, Christopher has worked in various other companies throughout their career. Christopher served as the Senior Infrastructure Officer - Contract at Quick Service Restaurant Holdings in April 2014. From September 2013 to March 2014, they worked as an IT Support Engineer - Contract at CMC Markets. Christopher also worked as a Systems Administrator at Newsweaver from May 2007 to April 2013 and at Plasmon RTS from January 2005 to May 2007. Prior to that, they served as a SAN/NAS Technician at Raidtec from February 2003 to January 2005. Christopher started their career as an IT Technician at Access Communications in June 2002 and later worked as an IT Technician at Southern Computer Systems from June 2001 to September 2001.

Christopher West has a diverse education history. In 1996-2002, they attended Midleton College. Christopher then obtained various certifications such as the CompTIA A+ Certification and Cisco HP IT Essentials 1 Certificate from Munster Technological University in 2005. In 2006, they attended Cisco Academy at Cork Institute of Technology to earn the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) degree. Christopher also obtained the CompTIA Server+ Certification and Cisco HP IT Essentials 2 Certificate from Munster Technological University in the same year. In 2007, they acquired the CompTIA Linux+ Certification from Professional Training Solutions Limited.

Moving forward, Christopher pursued self-study to earn a CompTIA Security+ Certification in 2012. Christopher also participated in a Complete Beginners Class in German at the German Culture and Communication Centre that same year. In 2013, they completed the Cloud Computing Security program at CERT StepFWD, Carnegie Mellon.

In 2014, Christopher obtained the VCP-DCV 5.5 degree from Dimension Data Learning Solutions. In 2015, they expanded their knowledge with certifications from Firefly Training for Cisco Unified Computing for Implementation Professionals and Cisco ONE Infrastructure Orchestration. Additionally, they completed the Nimble Introduction and Administration course at Nimble Storage University.

In 2016, Christopher further enhanced their skills by attending Bespoke Training Services for the AWS Technical Essentials degree. Christopher also pursued language courses at the Goethe-Institute, Sydney Australia, achieving the A1 and A2 Elementary Use of Language degrees. Moreover, they received the Data Center Automation with vRealize Orchestrator and vSphere PowerCLI degree from VMware Education.

Lastly, in September 2015, Christopher earned the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
