Jeff Krogmeier

Jeff Krogmeier has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jeff currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Quantum Diamond Technologies Inc (QDTI) since August 2021.

Prior to this, Jeff worked as the Director of Engineering/Operations at Genturi from January 2017 to November 2020. During their time at Genturi, they were responsible for transferring DNA optical mapping technology from an academic setting, improving its stability and user-friendliness. Jeff also built a team to assess hardware capabilities and identify areas for improvement.

From September 2015 to January 2017, Jeff held the position of Senior Manager - Advanced Technologies at RainDance Technologies. Here, they directed and managed the Advanced Technology Group, focusing on the development of breakthroughs in droplet digital biology for genomics applications.

Before that, Jeff served as the Project Engineering Manager at KMC Systems Inc. from August 2014 to August 2015. In this role, they oversaw the execution of operational and program directives, ensuring adherence to project cost and schedule.

Jeff's experience also includes working at the Broad Institute as the Assistant Director, Microbial Diagnostics from August 2013 to April 2014. Jeff led and coordinated R&D efforts for the development of a Clinical Diagnostics Instrument for pathogen identification.

From December 2009 to February 2013, Jeff worked as a Staff Engineer, Systems at Life Technologies. Here, they contributed to the development of Ion Torrent DNA sequencing and sample preparation platforms.

Prior to joining Life Technologies, Jeff held various roles at U.S. Genomics from 2005 to 2009, starting as a Principal Scientist/Group Leader. In this position, they directed multiple projects and personnel, working on the Department of Homeland Security Bio-Autonomous Network Detector (BAND) program and Human Diagnostics technology development.

Jeff's earliest work experience was as a Postdoctoral Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from September 2002 to January 2005. Here, they developed a fluorescent microfluidic immunoassay capable of screening multiple prostate cancer markers simultaneously.

Overall, Jeff Krogmeier has extensive experience in engineering and technology development, with a strong focus on genomics, diagnostics, and microfluidic systems.

Jeff Krogmeier obtained their BA degree with a double major in Chemistry and Biology from Central College, which they attended from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued their Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at The University of Kansas from 1997 to 2002.
