Shaun Hunter currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Quantum-Si, beginning in October 2023. Prior to this role, Shaun spent over eleven years at Illumina as a Staff Scientist, where expertise in stability and shelf-life testing was recognized, and Shaun organized a significant cross-functional summit on these topics. Shaun's academic background includes a Postdoctoral Scholar position at UCSD, focusing on microRNA regulatory networks in human embryonic stem cells, as well as a Graduate Research Assistant role at the same institution, where an analytical scheme for the microRNA let-7 was developed. Earlier experience includes a Laboratory Assistant position at Washington University School of Medicine, managing a positional cloning project in zebrafish. Shaun Hunter holds a PhD in Biology from UC San Diego and a BA in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
