Brian Berry

Brian Berry is currently a Senior Data Architect at Quantum Workplace. Prior to this, they were a Sr. Database Administrator at First National Bank of Omaha from February 2021 to August 2021. Brian has also been a SQL Server Database Administrator at Medical Solutions from June 2016 to February 2021 and at Tecumseh Poultry LLC from July 2015 to May 2016. Brian began their career as a SQL Server Database Administrator at IBM in October 2010 and remained there until July 2015.

At IBM, Brian was responsible for maintaining SQL Servers in 4 geographically dispersed 24/7 data centers to ensure integrity and recoverability of the company’s survey data. This included monitoring servers, alerting, database backups and an automated process for randomly restoring and testing backups in production environments each night. Brian also developed an automated SQL installation/configuration process using PowerShell to ensure consistency and speed deployment of new database servers. In addition, Brian developed automated processes for monitoring database size and disc usage. Brian regularly worked with .NET developers to diagnose and resolve issues found during the development/testing process. Brian also configured and maintained transactional replication in SQL 2005 and installed SSRS 2012, developing reports to analyze data trends. Brian utilized third party tools including several Red Gate Tools (SQL backup Pro, SQL Compare, SQL Data Compare, SQL Multi Script), SQL Sentry Performance Advisor and Vormetric Data encryption. Lastly, they maintained and troubleshot issues with an email process in which they routinely assembled and delivered an average of over 1 million client emails per month (highest was just over 2 million in a month).

Brian Berry has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from the University of Louisiana Monroe.

They work with Wesley Laughlin - Information Security Manager, Sean Erickson - Director of Software Engineering, and Brian Schoenecker - Director of Software Engineering. Their manager is Andrew Zetterman, VP of Technology.
