Ali Omar

Ali Omar has extensive experience as a research and development technician in the solar energy industry. Ali started their career at MMC Technology in 2000 as a manufacturing senior process engineering technician before moving to MiaSole in 2006. At MiaSole, Ali played a crucial role as a senior development process engineering technician, where they were responsible for various tasks such as data acquisition, sample preparation, module testing, and machinery setup. Ali also conducted solar cell characterization and handled module transfer and testing for different environmental conditions. In 2015, they joined Kinestral Technologies as a senior process technician, where they spearheaded experiment setup and execution, process improvement initiatives, and provided support to process engineering groups. Ali then worked at Siva Power as a senior R&D process engineering technician, operating and characterizing various solar device deposition equipment. Ali successfully developed a baseline deposition process for cadmium sulfide. Currently, Ali works as a research and development technician at QuantumScape since 2021.

Ali Omar attended Mission College from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Electronics/Microcomputer Technology. Ali also completed a Certificate program in Information Technology at High Tech Academy, although the specific dates of their enrollment are not provided.
