Danielle Gendron

Principal Battery Engineer at QuantumScape

Danielle Gendron, Ph.D. has a diverse background in engineering and research. Danielle is currently working at QuantumScape as a Senior Battery Engineer since 2018. Prior to this, they had a short-term role as a Senior Battery Engineer at an energy storage startup in 2018.

From 2013 to 2018, Danielle worked at UC Berkeley as a Graduate Student Researcher, where they collaborated with research groups from Cornell and Caltech on developing and characterizing novel polymer electrolytes for lithium batteries. Danielle measured electrolyte transport properties, including conductivity and diffusion, and developed automated conductivity measurements.

In 2012, Danielle was a Photovoltaics Intern at 1366 Technologies, Inc., where they implemented a new method to texture-etch silicon wafers for enhanced light capture of solar cells. Danielle optimized the etching process and developed a protocol for spin-coating resist on silicon wafers.

Prior to that, in 2011, Danielle worked as an Applications Engineering Intern at Advanced Electron Beams, where they optimized electron beams for sterilization and crosslinking in various applications. Danielle also characterized newly-built emitters for uniformity and efficiency.

Danielle's work experience also includes a role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University from 2011 to 2013. Here, they employed microfluidics for the separation of endothelial progenitor cells from blood and prepared devices with hydrogels for cell binding.

Overall, Danielle Gendron, Ph.D. has demonstrated expertise in battery engineering, polymer electrolytes, photovoltaics, microfluidics, and electron beam optimization.

Danielle Gendron, Ph.D. pursued their education in Chemical Engineering. From 2009 to 2013, they attended Northeastern University, where they completed their Bachelor's degree. Later, from 2013 to 2018, they embarked upon their Ph.D. journey as a candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
