Mathew Wanees is a chemical engineer with a diverse background in battery research and semiconductor processing. Currently serving as a Member of the Technical Staff in Battery Research at QuantumScape since January 2022, Mathew previously worked at Lockheed Martin as a Semiconductor Process Engineer, focusing on the development and improvement of III-V wafer and Focalplane array processing techniques. Additional experience includes leadership as Vice President of the UCSB Machine Shop Club, where Mathew operated machining tools and trained students, and as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UCSB Gordon Research Lab, working on microplasma deposition for fuel cell catalysts. Mathew also completed an engineering internship at Goleta Water District, enhancing data processes and drafting project proposals. Mathew holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, earned in 2019.
