Michael Elsdon

Michael Elsdon is an experienced engineer currently serving as Principal Control Engineer at QuantumScape since September 2025. Previously, Michael held the position of Engineering Manager and Test Engineer III at Sierra Space from February 2023 to August 2025. Prior roles include Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed Martin (February 2021 - March 2022) and Robotics Mechanical Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (May 2018 - February 2021), where Michael contributed to the Mars 2020 project by supporting actuator electronic ground support equipment and automating software configuration processes. Additionally, Michael began a career as an Automation Engineer at Northern Arizona University from January 2015 to April 2018. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning from Georgia Institute of Technology (2022 - 2028), is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Oregon State University (2019 - 2021), and earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University (2013 - 2018).
