Yi Zhang

Yi Zhang is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in materials science and engineering. Currently serving as a Consulting Member of Technical Staff and Director at QuantumScape since June 2019, Yi Zhang focuses on solid-state electrolyte development, materials characterization, and ceramic processing. Previous roles include Product Modification Lab Manager at Heraeus Photovoltaics, where responsibilities encompassed new product customization, metallization paste development, and global support for customer troubleshooting. Yi Zhang also held positions as Research Scientist and Senior R&D Engineer, contributing to significant advancements in solar cell technology and materials characterization, with several conference presentations and patents. Earlier experience includes a role as Product Manager at TÜV SÜD, leading a commercial analytical lab and achieving notable sales performance. Yi Zhang earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and holds additional qualifications from the National University of Singapore and the University of Science and Technology of China.
