Takuya Kitagawa

Takuya Kitagawa serves as the President of QuEra Computing Inc., where responsibilities include overseeing overall strategy, organization, and fundraising alongside the CEO. As a strategic advisor and consultant for QuEra, Takuya integrates scientific and business perspectives to ensure long-term success. Additionally, Takuya co-founded the Well Being for Planet Earth Foundation in September 2019. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Rakuten, where Takuya held the positions of Chief Data Officer and Managing Executive Officer, leading AI and data strategies across over 70 business units while managing a global team of more than 700. Takuya also initiated the Behavior Insight Strategy Office at Rakuten, evolving it into a supervisory department for data utilization across various divisions. Takuya's expertise in theoretical physics is evidenced by a Ph.D. from Harvard University, along with a history of teaching and publishing extensively in renowned scientific journals.
