Michael Smith

Michael Smith is the Scientific Director at Quest Diagnostics, specializing in Clinical and Forensic Toxicology with over 20 years of experience. They have directed various laboratories, including those focused on Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Workplace Testing, and have served as an expert witness in toxicology cases across multiple court levels. Previously, Michael held roles such as Assistant Professor at Oakland University Medical School, where they taught medical students and pathology residents, and completed postdoctoral research at both the Medical University of South Carolina and Pfizer. Their educational background includes a PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Grand Valley State University.
