Murali Balakumar

Murali Balakumar is Senior Vice President and Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO) for Quest Diagnostics.

As CIDO, Murali is responsible for all of the company’s technology, digital, data and analytics capabilities and services.

Murali has over 25 years of technology experience across a wide variety of industries. Prior to joining Quest, Murali was Chief Information Officer at Oak Street Health, which was acquired by CVS Health in 2023. Prior to Oak Street, Murali was Chief Information Officer for Card Services at Fiserv and has also held IT leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase Bank and General Electric.

Murali earned a master’s in engineering from the University of Texas, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India.

He is a member of the board of directors for Margaret’s Village, a non-profit organization that provides transitional housing for homeless families. Murali is also a member of the senior technology advisory council for P33, a non-profit organization that drives inclusive technology talent development in underserved locations.
