Nick Charles currently serves as the Head of Engineering for UK Defence at Quest Global, a position held since July 2023, where responsibilities encompass delivering services to UK defence clients. Previously, Nick held the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering at Ultra Maritime from January 2021 to April 2023, leading an 800-member engineering team across multiple countries and enhancing engineering execution. Prior to that, Nick advanced through various engineering leadership roles at Ultra Maritime, including Vice President of Engineering for Sonar OBU and Engineering Director for Ultra Command and Sonar Systems, managing teams of up to 350 and 180 engineers, respectively. Nick began a career in systems engineering at General Dynamics UK Limited, starting as a graduate engineer. Academically, Nick holds a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Bristol and has completed additional education at Duke University.
