Richard Webb is an accomplished journalism professional currently serving as Chief Magazine Editor at Nature Portfolio since July 2022, where Richard leads a team of 50 in producing award-winning content with a focus on institutional audiences in the Open Access era. Previously, Richard held various editorial positions at New Scientist from August 2008 to September 2023, including Executive Editor, Chief Features Editor, Deputy Features Editor, and Feature Editor, overseeing special editorial projects and managing feature content. Prior experience includes serving as News and Views Editor at Nature Publishing Group and as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. Richard holds an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London, a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, and additional qualifications in German Language and Subediting.
