Lin Pingping

Geek-in-Residence at Quest Ventures

Lin Pingping is a Geek-in-Residence at Quest Ventures, a top venture capital fund in Asia. She works closely with startups to accelerate their growth through a combination of incubation services and programmes. Pingping is also responsible for technology evaluation and horizon scanning for emerging technologies.

Prior to this, Pingping was the Chief Technology Officer of Jeehe, an events and social meetup site; and the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of 55tuan (NASDAQ).

Pingping has deep research interest in software defined networking, where she is in the Tsinghua National Laboratory for Information Science and Technology as a candidate for a Tsinghua University PhD. She has published 15 papers on the topic and has participated in conferences where her research on OpenFlow, IPv6, SDN, next generation internet architecture and basic protocols have been discussed.

Pingping has been recognised with admission into the Network Attack and Defense Laboratory; has won software design competitions and national mathematical modelling contests; and is a recipient of multiple academic awards such as national scholarships, computer world scholarship, principal people’s scholarship and outstanding model student.

Pingping has a Bachelors in Information Security from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China where she was ranked at the top of her class. She is also active in sports and social service, having been placed in the top three in athletics competitions, recognised as an outstanding member of the Chinese communist youth league in Chengdu, and served as vice-president and chair of the internet society and graduate student portal in Tsinghua University.
