Maureen Kim

Maureen grew up in Northern New Jersey and attended the University of Michigan, receiving her BA in Communication Studies. Initially working at a corporate law firm in NYC, she eventually pursued her passion for education reform by joining Teach for America. After teaching in Newark, New Jersey, she made the cross country move to the Bay Area and taught in East San Jose. Through her experiences in the classroom at Title I schools, Maureen saw firsthand the impact that equal access to education, opportunities, and information can have on students of low-income backgrounds. Upon learning about QuestBridge she was deeply inspired by the potential for its work to change the life trajectory of tens of thousands of students, including her very own. She is thrilled to join the QuestBridge team, where she can continue her work in education access on a greater scale. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring all that the East Bay has to offer with her family and dog.
