Hal Garstein has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Hal began their career as an intern at Metromedia News in 1984. Hal then worked as a production assistant at Adweek before joining Hearst Magazines as a production associate and eventually a senior production associate for Redbook. In 1995, Hal became the production manager and later the production director at Bridal Guide Magazine. Hal then worked as a freelance production manager at Time Inc. before joining The Walt Disney Company as a production manager. Hal later joined The Deal as a director of manufacturing and distribution, where they also took on the role of director of manufacturing and integrated marketing operations. In 2013, Hal became the production operations manager for Forbes Media at Continuum, and in 2015, they joined Latina Media Ventures as a production director. Currently, Hal is the director of publishing operations at Questex, where they lead a diverse shared services portfolio and manages a multi-million dollar budget.
Hal Garstein obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The George Washington University in the years 1981 to 1985. Currently, they are a candidate for the Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) certification, which is scheduled for completion in November 2020.
