Kurt Nelson

Kurt Nelson has extensive experience in human resources and talent strategy. Kurt held the position of Group Vice President of Talent Strategy at Zonda and Questex in 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Penton Media as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, leading a transformation of their talent base to align with organizational priorities. Kurt also served as the Director/Sr Manager/Manager of Human Resources at Penton Media, overseeing HR activities for 450 employees. Before joining Penton Media, Kurt Nelson worked at BlackRock as a Vice President of Human Resources, managing the Compensation & Benefits area. Kurt began their career as a Human Resources Generalist at Osprey Ship Management Inc, where they supported the development of loss prevention programs.

Kurt Nelson earned their Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior from the University of Michigan in the period between 1987 and 1991. Kurt also obtained two additional certifications, namely the SHRM Senior Certified Professional and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), both from SHRM, in April and June of 2017 respectively.
