Rhiannon James has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media and events industry. Rhiannon has held various roles in companies such as Questex, Industrial Exchange, IHS Markit, RISI, UBM Global Trade, Paperloop, and Miller Freeman.
At Questex, Rhiannon currently serves as the Group President for Pharma, Healthcare, and Technology since July 2019. In this role, they lead a team that connects buyers and sellers across multiple industries, providing them with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices through award-winning editorial teams and conference producers.
In addition to their role at Questex, Rhiannon is also a Board Member at FreightWaves since October 2020.
Previously, they were the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Industrial Exchange from July 2018 to June 2019.
Rhiannon joined IHS Markit in December 2016 and held various executive positions such as Executive Director, Americas - Maritime & Trade; Managing Director, Media and Events (Maritime & Trade); Chief Operating Officer of JOC Group; and Executive Vice President of JOC. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing the commercial and strategic aspects of the maritime and trade data/intelligence business, including managing sales, marketing, events, and other flagship products.
Before IHS Markit, Rhiannon worked at RISI as the Senior Vice President of Marketing Services from March 2007 to January 2012. Rhiannon'sresponsibilities included developing and executing strategies for events, websites, magazines, and custom publishing services.
Rhiannon also served as a Strategic Advisor on Breakbulk Europe at UBM Global Trade from May 2010 to May 2011.
At Paperloop, they held various roles such as Product Development Director for Information Products and Director of Online Content/Editor of PPI magazine. In these positions, they focused on product development, transforming print-based products into paid subscription databases, and developing online editorial strategies.
Rhiannon began their career at Miller Freeman, where they held various editorial roles.
