Bryan Da Silva

Bryan Da Silva has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. In their current role at Komoot, they serve as an Outdoor Content & Collections Editor, where they research, plans, and builds content for an outdoor exploration app. Bryan also refines user-uploaded material and creates editorial collections for popular outdoor recreation areas in Italy. Bryan utilizes frontend and backend web-building tools to provide a clean and informative product to app users.

Prior to their current position, Bryan worked as a Content Writer at HelloSafe and as a Creative Writer and Editor at Questo. At Questo, they created and wrote guided stories for exploring cities worldwide and closely assisted with the creation and editing of interactive city exploration games. Bryan also played a significant role in translating and editing texts in multiple languages, improving the quality of translated games.

In addition to their writing and editing experience, Bryan worked as an English Teacher at My English School Italia, where they delivered group and individual lessons to adult and teenage learners. Bryan also organized language-based events, including Creative Writing workshops.

Before working in the education and writing field, Bryan was self-employed as an English Second Language Specialist and English Specialist. Bryan also held leadership roles at BABELIA FORMACION S.L. and Intercountry, where they implemented team-oriented structures, recruited and trained new team leaders, and ran weekly meetings. At Intercountry, they led a team of English coaches and trained new recruits on administrative procedures and communicative approaches.

Early in their career, Bryan worked as an English Language Trainer at ICB EUROPE, teaching adults from different backgrounds and levels. Bryan implemented client feedback, received positive performance appraisals, and taught in various formats. Bryan also worked as a Youth Worker and English Teacher at Cemea del Mezzogiorno - Unità Replay, where they pioneered a pedagogical program and achieved the best English results in the history of each school.

Prior to their professional career, Bryan served as an Infantry Soldier in the Portuguese Army.

Bryan Da Silva has a diverse education history. Bryan completed their Master of Arts in Creative Writing with distinction at Royal Holloway, University of London from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with distinction from Queen's University, where they studied from 2017 to 2020.

In 2015, Bryan obtained a specialization in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language (TEFL), with a focus on Teaching Abroad, Teaching Business English, and Teaching to Young Learners. Bryan obtained this specialization from the University of Toronto. Additionally, in 2013 and 2014, Bryan attended George Brown College, where they pursued Organizational Leadership.

Aside from their formal education, Bryan has also obtained several certifications. In 2015, they obtained a certification called "Youthpass" from the European Commission. Bryan also received the "Youthpass" certification from the European Commission in 2014. In the same year, they completed the Community Leadership Training program at George Brown College. Furthermore, Bryan has completed several online courses, including "The Power of Microeconomics: Economic Principles in the Real World," "Financial Markets," "Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship," and "Understanding Terrorism and the Terrorist Threat" on Coursera. Bryan has also obtained a Standard First Aid CPR/AED (Level HCP) certification from the Canadian Red Cross in 2014.
