Joshua Barron

Joshua Barron has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joshua currently serves as a Scrum Master at Quext since 2022. Previously, they worked at Texas Tech University, where they held various roles from 2005 to 2022, including Senior Director for Student Success & Retention, Director: TTU Student Success & Retention, Unit Associate Director for University Advising, and Section Manager of Academic Facilities & Services.

Before joining Texas Tech University, Joshua worked as the Director of Student Ministries at Westminster Presbyterian Church from 2003 to 2005 and as the Associate Director of Youth Ministries at Highland Park Presbyterian Church from 2000 to 2003.

Joshua also has experience as an E-Business Consultant at Buchanan Associates in 2000, working with clients such as Texas Motor Speedway and Inspire Insurance. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Knowledge Management Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1998 to 2000 and completed a Future By Design Internship at EDS, an HP Company in 1997.

Throughout their career, Joshua has demonstrated skills in project management, budgeting, relationship management, strategic planning, and leadership. Joshua has also contributed to institutional changes, introduced innovative approaches, and promoted collaboration and data governance for better business outcomes.

Joshua Barron completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management from Texas Tech University from 1993 to 1996. Joshua then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a dual concentration in Management Information Systems and Organizational Behavior at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas, from 1996 to 1998. Currently, Joshua is in the process of pursuing a Ph.D. in Technical Communication & Rhetoric at Texas Tech University. No specific start or end year for their Ph.D. program is provided.
