Sustaining Engineering Lead at Quickstep Group

James Hancock has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Sheet Metal Worker (Fabrication) at CROYDON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in December 2015. James then worked as an HVAC Estimator at JMC Planning Engineering Landscape Architecture & Land Surveying, PLLC from November 2015 to February 2016. After that, they joined Weir Minerals as a Researcher from January 2016 to November 2016, focusing on increasing wear resistance of steel alloys.

In March 2017, James started working as a Graduate Engineer in the Materials Laboratory at Quickstep Group, where they further developed their skills and knowledge. James then progressed to the role of Quality Engineer from May 2018 to June 2020, and later became the Manufacturing Quality Lead from June 2020 to September 2021, responsible for site-wide quality manufacturing operations and global supplier management.

From September 2021 to October 2023, James took on the role of Manufacturing Lead at Quickstep Group, leading manufacturing operations for F-35 Lightning II Paint & Final Assembly and achieving record-breaking sales. Currently, they are serving as the Sustaining Engineering Lead at Quickstep Group since October 2023.

James Hancock obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sydney from 2013 to 2016. Before that, they completed their high school education at St Patrick's College Strathfield from 2007 to 2012. In addition, they hold various certifications, including Part 145 Human Factors (AA-26a) from Aviation Australia in 2021, Certified Quality Management System Lead Auditor from SAI Global in 2020, SIRF The Edge Course: Leaders for the Future from SIRF Roundtables in 2020, and MSS402080 Undertake Root Cause Analysis from SAI Global in 2017. James also has certifications in Project Management Essentials, Lean Six Sigma White Belt, 9050 Certificate II in Engineering, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety, Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis Registered User (Category 2), HLTCPR211A - Perform CPR, and NRL Aware Program.
