Eric Halpern has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Eric began their career at Walker, Richer & Quinn as a Senior Software Engineer for four years. Following that, they worked at Tandem Labs as a Member of Research Staff, where they played a principal role in investigating Java's potential and porting it to Tandem's operating system. At BEA Systems, Eric served as Chief Architect for WebLogic Server, guiding the planning, design, and development of versions 8.1 and 9.0. Eric later joined WebLogic as a Principal Engineer. Eric then became the CTO and VP of Engineering at Doppelganger, where they developed the virtual world vSide. After that, they served as CTO at DNA Games, where they oversaw the building of a platform for social game development. Eric then worked as an Interim CTO and Technical Advisor at Executive Technical Consulting. Most recently, they joined Quip as a Senior Staff Engineer in 2018.
Eric Halpern obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and more from Brown University, which they attended from 1981 to 1985. Later, from 1993 to 1995, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Stanford University.
