David Tomassi has a diverse work experience in various roles. David is currently working as a Research Software Engineer at Quokka.io since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineering R&D Intern at Sandia National Laboratories from June 2021 to September 2021. In this role, they implemented CI/CD architecture using Jenkins for multiple C#/ASP.NET projects and improved third-party vendor software.
Before joining Sandia National Laboratories, David was associated with the University of California, Davis from 2017 to 2021. David served as a Graduate Student Researcher from September 2018 to June 2021, working with Dr. Cindy Rubio González on BugSwarm project. David also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher, developing and evaluating a Python Analyzer that parses Travis CI build logs. Additionally, they worked as a Student Assistant and conducted research on data sanitation in TCP/IP dump files under the guidance of Dr. Matt Bishop.
David's earlier work experience includes a role as a Web Builder at iHOUSEweb, Inc. from June 2016 to September 2016. In this role, they implemented changes to clients' websites using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery. David also performed QA reviews, administered quality control, and conducted black box testing to identify bugs and wrote reports on findings.

David Tomassi completed their education in three stages. David began by attending Sierra College from 2014 to 2016, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Physics. Following this, from 2016 to 2018, they continued their studies at the University of California, Davis, and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Lastly, from 2018 to 2021, David pursued their Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of California, Davis.
