Ian Vela

Ian Vela is currently a Urologic Oncologist at Urocology and serves as the Chair of the Department of Urology at Greenslopes Private Hospital. They have held the position of Lead Clinician for the Queensland Bladder Cancer Initiative since 2018 and previously worked as a Urologic Oncologist at Queensland Health from 2014 to 2012. Ian completed a Urologic Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center between 2012 and 2014 and has also held academic roles at the Queensland University of Technology, including Associate Professor from 2020 to 2022. Ian earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine from The University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Urology.
