Lula Dembele

Lula Dembele is a policy entrepreneur recognized for transforming lived expertise into impactful actions, exemplified by winning the QCOSS Community Impact Award for Gender Equality in 2025. With a robust history influencing national policy, Lula worked at the Illawarra Women's Health Centre as the Director of Lived Expertise and Advocacy and has taken leadership roles at the Australian Government and various organizations focusing on gender equality and violence prevention. Currently, Lula serves as the General Manager of Lived Experience and Co-Production at Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and holds roles at Monash University and Queensland University of Technology as an Industry Fellow and member of advisory councils. Their commitment to leveraging lived experience in policy and advocacy continues to drive significant change.
