Somya Gupta is currently the Lead for the Quantum in Chips Act in The Netherlands, where they chair the Photonics for Quantum Pilot Line and contribute to the development of national strategies for quantum technology initiatives. Previously, Somya worked as a Researcher and PhD student at imec, identifying electronic properties of defects in various semiconductor materials, and as a Research Program Manager at the Niels Bohr Institute, managing international R&D projects focused on novel materials for quantum technologies. Somya is also involved in innovation and strategic partnerships at QuTech and has experience as a Research Consultant at Microsoft, focusing on quantum hardware development. Somya holds both a Master's degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and is pursuing a PhD in Semiconductor Physics at KU Leuven.
