Sam Shapiro has over 26 years of experience in healthcare software development and business administration. In 1997, while finishing an engineering degree at Brigham Young University, Sam founded MedShape LLC, where he was successful in bringing to market several key medical software solutions, including DocuTrak, a scanning and indexing solution, and a first-generation HL7® interface engine used by hundreds of healthcare organizations for facilitating data exchange between medical information systems. In 2003, he negotiated the sale of MedShape to Kryptiq Corporation. As part of that sale, Sam joined Kryptiq as a senior executive and, during his time there, played key roles in shaping the product direction and development as well as building the customer base to more than 10 times what it was when he joined. In 2007 Sam left Kryptiq and founded Qvera.
