For more than 100 years the Australian wool industry was an economic miracle, giving Australia one of the highest living standards in the world.

Australia’s superfine merino wool remains the highest quality, most sustainably and ethically produced fibre in the world.

However, the wool industry lost its competitive edge and market position when it gradually lost its manufacturing capability over the past 35 years. The industry’s confidence – and its wool clip – has been in terminal decline ever since.

Now is the time for the wool industry to regain its economic strength in regional Australia and restore its contribution to the national economy.
