Rob Mitchell

Rob Mitchell is a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Rabbet. Rob has over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including quality assurance, systems analysis, and architecture.

Rob began their career at Qwest Communications in 2003 as a Principal Architect. In this role, they led a team to create an RFP and evaluate responses for system solutions including network operations, billing, sales and customer support. When Qwest decided not to pursue the partnership, Rob was asked to stay on the project by both the partner company and a principal consulting group.

In 2006, Rob became the Architect and Lead Systems Engineer for the Next Generation Packet Operation Support Systems (NGPOSS). In this role, they led a team of system engineers working to document requirements, define architecture, create detailed systems solutions, and specify workflow management for ordering, inventory, activation, and billing for Ethernet network products. Rob also delivered full specifications for the transition of significant functionality from a home-grown system onto a commercial platform.

From 2009 to 2011, Rob served as the Strategic Architect for the Business Markets Group (BMG) and Wholesale Market Unit. In this role, they developed a strategic architecture plan for the systems supporting BMG and Wholesale. Rob also provided direction to project development teams regarding corporate standards and strategic directions. Rob was able to drive consolidation across multiple similar but disparate efforts resulting in improved functionality at lower cost and with greater stability.

In 2011, Rob joined Ecs Communications as a Senior Consultant - Systems Analyst. In this role, they did in-depth analysis and recommendations for improvement for 2 system providers.

In 2017, Rob joined Contract Simply as a Quality Assurance Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for quality assurance for the new Contract Simply platform which helps banks and developers efficiently manage the construction draw process.

Rob Mitchell completed their undergraduate degree at Davidson College, where they studied biology. Rob then went on to earn their master's degree in computer and information science from the University of Florida. Finally, they obtained a certification in ScrumMaster from the ScrumAlliance.

Rob Mitchell reports to Stephen Lee, Director of Engineering. They work with Kelly Jackson - Software Engineer, Lakshmi Swethadri - Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, and Laura Boucher - Senior Software Engineer.
