Bas Brouwers

Bas Brouwers is the current Member of the Managing Board at Rabobank. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer for ING Nederland from January 2013 to December 2015 and as the Chief Financial Officer | Member of the Board for ING Deutschland from January 2008 to December 2013.

Brouwers began their career with ING in 2008, serving as the Chief Financial Officer for ING DiBa in Frankfurt. In this role, they were responsible for the bank's mortgages, brokerage, instalment loans, savings products, and current accounts. Bas nearly doubled the business volume during their time with the company and also oversaw the integration of ING's Commercial Banking activities in Germany.

In 2010, Brouwers took on additional responsibilities as the Call Center Manager. Two years later, they became the Treasury Manager. In 2013, they left ING Deutschland to become the Chief Financial Officer for ING Nederland.

At ING Nederland, Brouwers was responsible for introducing the one agile way of working. Under this new system, employees work in multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams with end-to-end responsibility of tribes and squads. This system empowers employees to collaborate more easily and effectively across the organisation.

In December 2015, Brouwers left ING Nederland to join Rabobank as a Member of the Managing Board.

Bas Brouwers has a post graduate education from the University of Groningen, where they earned their degree in Auditor (RA). Bas also has a Master in Business Economics from the University of Groningen. Additionally, they participated in an exchange programme at the University of Glasgow. For their pre-university education, they attended Stad en Esch in Meppel. Bas also has several certifications, including ones from INSEAD in Artificial Intelligence for Business and Young Managers Program, Singularity University in The Executive Program, Euromoney Learning in Accounting for Derivatives and other Financial Instruments, and NIBE-SVV Opleidingen‎ in Corporate Banking and General Banking Course.

Bas Brouwers reports to Wiebe Draijer, Chairman of the Managing Board. Some of their coworkers include Berry Marttin - Member of the Managing Board, Mariëlle Lichtenberg - Member of the Managing Board, and Els De Groot - Member of the Managing Board.
