Founded in 1903, RACE has a long tradition as a leading service provider for motorists. Created as a public service institution instead of a commercial association, RACE has dedicated itself to solving motorist demands in Spain and abroad. With this in mind, the club established the first two highway codes, helped in signposting roads and created international documents relevant to automobiles whose owners wanted to travel to other countries.

Nowadays, the quality of RACE services is well known throughout the country, and the road safety campaigns developed by the club, have deserved that national authorities  consider RACE a trusted entity for advice on road safety issues.
