James Haslam

James Haslam is currently a Senior Fellow at Race Forward, where they are building a national school district organizing initiative called H.E.A.L. Together. They co-founded the Rights & Democracy Project and served as its Executive Director until February 2022. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director and chief organizer at the Vermont Workers’ Center for 15 years, where they played a key role in various grassroots campaigns, including the Healthcare Is A Human Right Campaign. James is dedicated to fostering collective action and advancing a multiracial democracy. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
