Michael Rice

Michael Rice has a long history of working in the IT industry. Michael began their career in 2007 as a Systems Administrator at McClelland & Hine, Inc., where they worked with Linux and Vmware and built phone systems using Asterisk. Michael also automated tasks with php, python, and perl. In 2011, they joined Rackspace, the #1 managed cloud company, where they held three roles: Software Developer -- OpenStack, Software Developer -- VMWare Practice, and Virtualization Engineer. In their role as a Software Developer -- VMWare Practice, Michael used Groovy and Grails to build large scale web based tools for the Private Cloud Operations team. Michael also built REST APIs that were exposed to customer facing systems and allowed for Customer Self Service of the Private Cloud infrastructure. As a Virtualization Engineer, they worked with OpenStack and Vmware and automated tasks using Java, Groovy, and Grails, as well as some python. In 2019, Michael joined RackN as a Senior System Engineer.

Michael Rice attended Odessa College from 2004 to 2006, where they studied Computer Science and Networking, but did not obtain a degree.
